X-Games gets SuperRally started in the US

Rallycross has long been the domain of europe where it has been a popular motorsport for decades almost to the beginning’s of the motorcar. It satisify’s every petrolheads basic need for high speed on and off track drama and excitement and now X-Games 2010 gives us SuperRally.

Summer X-Games has had rally in one form or another for a few years now so it is no real surprise to hear that SuperRally will finally debut this year.

The format is a simple round based competition. 12 competitors will take time trials to decide initial grid postions. Then there will be 3 four car head to head races round a course more suited to motocross, the first across the line from this high octane 4 lap race makes it to the final round. The final will be 5 laps of supercharged adrenalin fueled craziness that only X-games can deliver.

I have been to europe and I have witnessed rallycross I really can’t understand why it has never made it across to the US but X-games is leading the way as it is all set to change when the rally season starts later this year.
