Voter’s Are Spelbound By BGT Winners
Last night saw the final of Britain’s Got Talent aired live on ITV in the UK. The winner’s, decided by a public phone in vote, were Spelbound an acrobatic troupe from Ashford in Kent.
The troupe line is Adam McAssey 20, Adam Buckingham 21, Alex Uttley 24, Jonathan Stranks 15, Douglas Fordyce 19, Edward Upcott 18, Nicholas Illingworth 24, Katie Axten 17, Leighanne Cowler 18, Lauren Kemp 17, Hollianne Wood 13, Abigail Ralph 15, Amy Mackenzie 12 .
A mixed group of atheletes most of whom have been training in gymnastics since the age of four. Astonishingly whilst contending with their rehearsals for BGT they have also been preparing for a world championship competition this summer.
After their final performance during which one of the troupe was launched some 20 feet through the air over a surprised Amanda Holden’s head. after their performance Amanda tipped them to be an opening act for the 2012 Olympics in London.
The other two acts that made up the top three where Twist and Pulse, a quirky dance double act comprising Glen Murphy, 19, and Ashley Glazebrooke, 18, the tow best friends of only 2 years and placed second by the public vote.
The third act by public vote was Kieran Gaffney, a talented 13-year-old drummer from Kent who made it to the final on his second attempt having failed to meet the cut in last years auditions.
Spelbound take home the £100,000 prize money and a booked slot to appear in the Royal Variety Performance later this year.
