Hundreds of handmade and personally crafted items were submitted for judging at the Fayette County Fair this Friday, including handmade jewelry, bead work, ceramics, decorations, and more.

Entries were judged based on the quality of the work, as well as how much effort is put into creating the art works.

“You can really tell how much work is in something. It just has to be in your blood, I think,” said Janet Smith, judge for the needlework part of the event. In order to better display the items that were going to be presented for showing, the interior of the building was painted a bright shade of white.

The event was held in the Home Economics Building at the Fayette County Fair. Other events at the fair included a benefit auction that helped to raise money for 4-H. There were some interesting items being donated, including haunted hay ride packages, vacation packages to local lodges and destinations, animal semen, and more.
