In a match that Argentina continued their clinical campaign in this tournament tonight by beating Mexico 3-1 and moving on to the quarter final’s to face Germany on 3rd July.

Carlos Tevez opened Argentina’s book in this match in the 26th minute, despite some valiant early efforts by Mexico, when Messi return the ball to him after the Mexican keeper blocked his first attempt and this time he didn’t miss.

This seemed to be the straw that broke the Mexican’s back as mistakes and chinks in their defence developed, one such mistake by Ricardo Osorio passing directly to Gonzalo Higuain allowing him to score past an already commited keeper in the 33rd minute.

After the restart Carlos Tevez netted his second goal of the match in the 52nd minute when he benefited from another mistake 25 yards from the goal and blasted a shot past the keeper for one of the most memorable goals of the tournament.
