FIFA World Cup 2010 Super Friday Group H Final Match’s

The Match’s

Chile-Spain, Group H, Tshwane/Pretoria
Switzerland-Honduras, Group H, Mangaung/Bloemfontein

Group H is still an open book with nothing decided yet, with all four teams still capable of reaching the knockout phase. Chile are in the best position given their six points from their first two match’s and a draw against Spain would guarantee them top spot and a place in the knockout round, while the Spain, The European champions, must defeat Chile to have a chance of doing the same this will surely be the match to watch.

“We know that a draw will be enough for Chile, and we also know it’s going to be a tricky match, because they are not used to just sitting back and defending. We are confident though,” Fernando Torres, Spain forward.

Switzerland, who meet Honduras, must win to have a chance of advancing if Spain loose then they will. However if both european teams win then we will see 3 teams on equal points and it will come down to goal difference or goals scored. Honduras’ only chance is to beat Switzerland by a clear 3 goals and then hope that Chile beat Spain which would giove them a chance on goal difference as again 3 teams would be on equal points vying for the second spot in the group.

“Before it all started, we said we’d definitely need a win against Honduras to make the last sixteen. That remains the case. It’s in our own hands. We know we can qualify from the group with a win. I don’t think we’ll have a problem with motivation,” Benjamin Huggel, Switzerland midfielder.
