Chennai had won three out of their four games in the league stage of the Champions League T20, and the only game that they lost was in the Super Over to Victorian Bushrangers. Bangalore were, on the other hand, lucky to make it through to the semi-finals, after tying with Mumbai and the Lions for the second slot.

However, all that is history and on a track where the pace bowlers will derive a lot of help, the Bangalore side will go in with the advantage. This is because not only do they possess a battery of fast bowlers who can make the ball around, but also because the Super Kings are without a strong pace bowling attack.

Bangalore will definitely miss Jacques Kallis, but Rahul Dravid’s form has been good, and he has often set the tone at the top. For Chennai, Michael Hussey’s inclusion has stalled the loss of early wickets and he will now look to build on that half century he had in the last game against the Warriors.
